Day 1 in India

Our day began with a start…our alarm woke us at 10:00…new place and not enough sleep.  We decided to dip in the pool this morning. When Marshall opened the door, our pool guy was cleaning the pool. We waited until he left and then enjoyed the pool.

Our driver, Shaji, picked us up at 12:30 and took us to lunch at Taste of Kerala.  Kerala is the state we are living in. It is Southern India and Kerala means “land of coconuts.”  🥥 We had a traditional meal served on a banana leaf.  Marshall had seafood and I had chicken korma. The potatoes were too spicy for me.

We then went to Kovalam Beach and walked to Lighthouse Beach.  We were approached by many people trying to sell us their items.  Almost every restaurant was trying to lure us in. Marshall says they target Americans because they think we are rich.

After the beach we drove to the Technopark in Trivandrum to see where Marshall will be working. The Technopark is filled with IT companies.   Here is a picture of Marshall’s work building for the next few weeks.

Then we went to the largest mall in the area. We shopped at the LuLu Fashion Mall store for groceries and household items. It was a full day and we were happy to be back home.
