My White Lotus Day (7/17/23)

Today is Marshall’s first work day and they are announcing the merger/acquisition. Some of his colleagues arrived last night and are staying at the Leela.  I decided to spend the day at the Leela Resort or was it a White Lotus resort?

When we arrived, we were greeted by 3 people. Marshall explained that he was just picking up people but they wanted to welcome us to the Leela.  She placed a red dot on Marshall’s forehead and the next lady put a shell necklace over his head and then they brought us coconut water/milk in a coconut. They did the same for me. The music playing reminded me immediately of the White Lotus music. 

The resort looks out over the Indian Ocean.  It is set up high.

The sign gives directions to the Maldives, Sri Lanka and Saudi Arabia from that point.  

I walked down to the infinity pool.  I found a lounge chair and read my book in the sun.  They brought a foam pad to the wooden chair and covered it in a beach towel and asked if I wanted sun or shade.  I chose sun at that moment. I sat by the pool for a while. Then I decided to walk down to the beach.  I chose shade on the beach and there was a lovely breeze.  

There was a mosque very nearby on the beach. I heard the afternoon call to worship.  

The water is rough so there was no one swimming. I was on a section of beach that is private for the resort.
