Houseboat in Alleppey (Saturday 8/19 - Sunday 8/20)
We had a boat captain, a cook and then a boat manager that took care of everything. This is where we tied up to have lunch.
John and I are standing on the top deck. we basically spent all day up there looking at the sites.
Marshall and John are sitting in the upstairs sitting room. We had a blue tooth speaker so we were playing tunes. We had air conditioning but we opened the windows while the boat was cruising.
This was our bedroom and the bed. It was nice and comfy and had a great comforter which we didn't have at our house. I wanted to stay in bed for hours. We are missing our comfortable bed in Wilmington. This was the best bed I have been in since July 13. Marshall had a good one on his trip to Baroda.
This is John's Room. He had to be careful to watch his head. People in India are much shorter than John. I think this boat had two master bedrooms. One upstairs and one downstairs. John was in the upstairs room. Each had its own bathroom with a Western toilet, toilet paper and a shower. We were a little spoiled.
This is the washing station. You can see the dining room behind Marshall. It is very common to see a sink in a restaurant because people eat with their hands so they wash their hands before a meal and after a meal.
Marshall and I are on the front deck. This was on Sunday morning. This was a great perch to see the sights and hear the sounds.

Marshall is relaxing on the couch. John took a nap here on Saturday afternoon. We were very comfortable and the boat was so relaxing!
The boat docked around 6:00. They served us dinner and then we played cards. My friend, Courtney, told me about a new card game called "Trash" or "Garbage". I googled the rules and we all played it together. It was more fun with 3 people than with 2 people.
John and I are standing on the bottom deck next to the driver. Marshall was fascinated with the way to drive a houseboat. He watched him until he figured it out.
