We walked along the beach and passed some shops while we waited for the Janardhana Temple to open at 5:00 p.m. Once again, we had to remove our shoes. Then we climbed stairs to a gate and then more stairs to the top of the temple grounds.

There are multiple shrines built for different gods and goddesses. We are not allowed to go inside because it is only allowed for Hindus. We are allowed to walk through the temple grounds and even take a few pictures.
The gold statue inside is the cobra. It has some flowers around its head.

The Banyan tree is huge and very old.

The tall, colorful tower is called the gopuram or gopura. They are more ornate in the Kerala state region and more modest in some of the other areas.
